Allergy & Sensitivity Testing
With Vitality Assessment allergy testing, there is no 'scratching' or breaking of any skin or membrane. You simply hold a brass rod in one hand while the Vitality Assessment Technician touches the tip of a brass probe on specific points on your hand or foot.

It is estimated that 60-80% of the population suffers from food allergies or sensitivities, yet because most people associate allergic reactions only with sudden, severe symptoms such as diarrhea, stomach pain, and anaphylaxis, these allergies and sensitivities go mostly unnoticed.

Most adverse reactions to foods are not true allergies, but are sensitivities or intolerance to certain foods.

The Vitality Assessment device actually measures the skin's resistance to the small minute amount of electrical signal passing through the probes. Based on Chinese Medicine, the Vitality Assessment Allergy Test is measuring whether or not the electrical flow within your meridians is balanced or out of balance.

The three main components of Vitality Assessment Allergy testing are organ balancing, allergy (or sensitivity) testing and the efficacy of nutritional products, but the possibilities are endless. In fact, we are also able to screen for energetic presences of parasites, candida, viruses, bacteria and even nutritional deficiencies.

An allergy is characterized by a true immune response involving the production of antibodies against the offending antigen (most often proteins).

Food intolerances & sensitivities, on the other hand, are generally the result of an inability to properly digest and metabolize the offending food, most often due to insufficient enzymatic production or action. Food intolerances can develop into food allergies if food particles make their way into the bloodstream, as in the case of leaky gut patterns.

The most common foods involved in allergy or sensitivity reactions include wheat, gluten, dairy products, corn, soy, nuts, citrus fruits, strawberries, shellfish, eggs, and chocolate. Food dyes and preservatives are also very common culprits.

Any food can cause an allergic or sensitivity reaction in susceptible individuals. Signs of food sensitivity vary, and it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days for symptoms to appear. Symptoms can include gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, belching, headaches, lack of clarity and focus, and fatigue. Obesity, chronic inflammation, asthma, arthritis, gout, eczema, hypertension, ulcers, behavioural problems, depression, and ADD/ADHD have been linked with reactions to certain foods or food groups.

The main cause of food allergy and sensitivity is a breakdown in the body's normal defences, including improper digestion, passive leaky gut patterns, and weakened or poor immune function. Nutritional deficiencies, Candidiasis, a repetitive and monotonous diet (eating the same foods all the time), chronic stress, and chemical additives and preservatives are additional causes.
